Hatha yoga is a path toward creating balance and uniting opposites.

The word Hatha means willful or forceful. Refers to a set of physical exercises (known as asanas or postures), and sequences of asanas, designed to align your skin, muscles, and bones. The postures are also designed to open the many channels of the body—especially the main channel, the spine—so that energy can flow freely.

In our physical bodies we develop a balance of strength and flexibility. It is a powerful tool for self-transformation and is more than just physical postures. It asks us to bring our attention to our breath, which helps us to still the fluctuations of the mind, be more present in the unfolding of each moment and to helps us to direct our attention inward.

This course of Hatha Yoga is open to brand new beginners as well as those who wish to reconnect with the fundamentals of postures (asanas) and basic sequences, including sun salutations. (Also, a perfect opportunity to get that friend who has been meaning to try yoga to commit to doing what they say they’ll do.) A focus on healthy alignment principles and an introduction to breathing practices (pranayama) will help build strength, flexibility and create a foundation for your yoga practice.

You are never too tight, too old or too weak to begin. Where do you want to be in six weeks’ time? By coming to this course you will find yourself more focused, more grounded, and stronger. Don’t wait to step into your best self!

Beginner Hatha Yoga Series Session Schedule each Friday:

Each Friday starting with a 45min to 1hour of asana / physical posture practice

  • What is Yoga, Sun salutation A & Sun salutation B
  • Hip opening & Twists
  • Bandhas
  • Standing postures, Back bending and Forward bending
  • Inversion & sequencing
  • Breathing Techniques & Meditation

Course manual will be provided for home practice.

Class will be limited to at most to 15  students, so you’ll get lots of individual attention.

    I am assuming that the hatha yoga course starting on Friday is fully subscribed but I thought I would ask? I am a beginner to yoga and a little out of shape. But am keen to try
